The Embassy of Paraguay in Germany commemorated Paraguayan Women's Day with a discussion event for Paraguayan women living in the country, creating a space for dialogue, guidance and exchange. The event took place on 26 February at the Taipei Representative Office in Berlin.

In his opening remarks, the Ambassador highlighted the historic role of Paraguayan women in rebuilding the country after the War of the Triple Alliance, as well as their valuable contribution throughout the history of our country. He also stressed their relevance today, noting that women represent almost half of the national population and that 38.5% of Paraguayan households are headed by women.

The panel addressed topics linked to labour-market integration, support in integration processes, building support networks and legal guidance on migration matters.

Speakers included Alejandra Balleza-Sachse and Francisca Schmal, representatives of Frauenalia; Rocío Vásquez Escalante, adviser on legal and migration matters; and Liz Soto Rivas, founder of Latinas en Alemania.

The event closed with an informal exchange and refreshments among the attendees and a giveaway from PUKU, an initiative that promotes the economic autonomy of women in vulnerable situations through sustainable craftsmanship.

With this activity, the Embassy reaffirms its commitment to support the Paraguayan community in Germany, promoting initiatives that strengthen information, mutual support and integration.
