Mass in honour of the Virgin of Caacupé
7 December 2025

The Embassy of Paraguay in Germany and the Spanish-Speaking Mission in Darmstadt-Offenbach organised, on 7 December 2025, a Mass in honour of the Virgin of Caacupé at the church in Offenbach am Main, with the support of the Paraguayan community in the region. The ceremony, presided over by the Paraguayan priest Hugo Giménez, brought together more than 120 Paraguayans for a heartfelt celebration of faith and tradition.
After Mass, attendees took part in a fellowship gathering with traditional Paraguayan dishes — a valuable moment of unity among Paraguayans living in Germany.
Ambassador Fernando Acosta Díaz opened the gathering with a welcome speech, thanking the community for its support and highlighting the importance of keeping our traditions alive. He also mentioned the projects and activities the Embassy is currently working on. During the Mass, prayer cards and rosaries from the city of Caacupé were handed out.
Initiatives like these strengthen the cohesion of the Paraguayan community in Germany, creating spaces for meeting, exchange and solidarity among nationals, while reinforcing a sense of identity and cultural belonging. The celebration was highly appreciated by all participants, who underlined the importance of keeping our traditions alive.
